Build a Part - Frequently Asked Questions

• What if the option I need isn't listed in the Build a Part tool?

  Samtec has many non-standard options available that are not listed in the Build a Part tool. If you would like to customize your part beyond what is available in the Build a Part tool, you may do so by contacting our Custom Parts Group. Choose either Chat, Email, or call 1-800- SAMTEC9.

• What is the next step after I am finished building my part?

  After you have built a complete part you will notice the "Sample/Buy" button at the bottom of the page turns green. At this point, your part (minus any options you may want to add) is complete and ready for the next step. You may either sample or buy your part at this time by clicking the green button, view a model by clicking the "View Model" button (IE only) or you may use the "Save for later" button to add this part to your Saved Parts List to access at another time.

• How can I access the parts I have saved for later?

  Each part you save from the Build a Part tool is stored under the My Saved Parts section of My Samtec – the account management system available to all Samtec.com users. To access this use the following link - My Saved Parts.

  You may also find this link by using the simple footer navigation. Scroll to the bottom of the website on any page, and click on "My Saved Parts" under the My Samtec subheading.

• How can I build a mate to the part I have built?

  The convenient "Possible Mates" selector available within the Build a Part tool will show you the available mates that Samtec has available for purchase. You can build a mate for your current part at any time by selecting the "Possible Mates" dropdown at the top right of the Build a Part tool, then simply clicking on a mate within the selector. Easily swap between your parts by clicking on their part number declarations in the menu to the left of the "Possible Mates" dropdown.

• The part I built isn't the one I want. How do I start over?

  You may start over at any time by simply selecting a different series from the dropdown menu at the top left of the Build a Part tool. This will reset the current part you are working on and start your process over with the series you select.
